助道人法
【術語】又明念佛行者助道之人法曰：「此有三：一須善明師內外之律，恭敬承事能開除妨障之人。如大論云：雨墮不住山頂，必歸下處，若人憍心自高，則法水不入，若恭敬善師，則功德歸之。二須如同行之共涉險，乃至臨終互相勸勵。法華云：善智識是大因緣。三於念佛相應之教文，常當受持披讀習學。般舟經之偈云：此三昧經真佛語，設聞遠方有此經，用法道故往聽受，一心諷誦不忘捨。問：何等教文，與念佛相應？答：正明西方觀行并九品行果者，莫如觀無量壽經。說彌陀本願并極樂細相者，莫如無量壽經。明諸佛相好并觀相滅罪者，莫如觀佛三昧經。明色身法身相，并三昧勝利者，莫如般舟三昧經，念佛三昧經。明修行方法者，莫如上之三經，并十往生經，十住毘婆沙論。日日讀誦者，莫如阿彌陀經。結偈總說者，莫如無量壽經，優婆提舍願生偈（或曰往生論與淨土論）。修行之方法，多在摩訶止觀，及善導和尚之觀念法門，並六時禮讚。問答料簡，多在天台之十疑，道綽和尚之安樂集，慈恩之西方要訣，懷感和尚之群疑論。記往生人者，多在迦才之淨土論，并瑞應傳。」愚案其他選拔淨土之要文，採集念佛者之偈頌法語者，莫如宋四明宗曉之樂邦文類。

【術語】小乘中附佛法之外道曰犢子道人，大乘中附佛法之外道曰方廣道人。惡執大乘方廣之空理，而墮於空見者也。智度論一曰：「更有佛法中方廣道人，言一切法不生不滅，空無所有，譬如兔角龜毛常無。」止觀十曰：「又方廣道人，自以聰明讀佛十喻。自作解云：不生不滅，如幻如化，空幻為宗。龍樹斥云：非佛法方廣所作，亦是邪人法也！」三論玄義曰：「二學大乘者，為方廣道人，執於邪空，不知假有，故失世諦。既執邪空，迷於正空，亦喪真矣。」

【雜語】無念無想之真人也。四十二章經曰：「供養三世諸佛，不如供養一無心道人。」聖財集下曰：「三世佛者始覺之佛，如三千佛。以凡聖別執偏住於有相之心而供養，故限於佛而不通於凡，限於應身而不通於法身，未達不二之理也。凡夫亦本來之佛，與佛同體，不知此理者愚也。無心道人者，無凡心與佛心，是為無心之形。無凡心，故一切凡夫在此中。無佛心，故一切諸佛在此中。一時成供養一切之凡聖，豈非勝於偏供耶？黃檗云：於佛作清淨光明解脫想。於眾生作垢濁闇昧生死想。不可成佛。肇公云：佛非人非天。故能天能人也。此為真佛。非天非人者，為實體遮情之法門也。能天能人者，為權用表德之法門也。遮表俱時，體用不二，是為法門之大體。無心道人無凡聖之心，無心故為凡聖之物體，是一法界大總相法門體也。」

樹提伽往昔給病道人緣
【傳說】樹提伽倉庫盈實，金銀具足，奴婢成行，無所乏少，其富過國王。一時國王與樹提伽同車詣佛所問言：世尊，樹提伽是我臣，前身有何功德，而婦女家宅過我甚？佛言：樹提伽布施功德，現天上受樂也。往昔五百商主，將諸商人齎持重寶，經遇險路，於空山中逢一病道人，給草屋，厚敷床褥，給米漿米糧燈燭，乞願天堂之報。今果得報。佛言是時布施者，今樹提伽夫婦是也。時病人，今我身是也。五百商主及商人，皆得阿羅漢道。見樹提伽經。
